Cuba is largely comprised of descendants from Spain and Africa. Some of the music and dance elements of these groups have blended together over time to create an Afro-Cuban sound. Popular music styles include salsa, rumba and mambo and some of the instruments used in creating this music are claves, maracas, thumb piano, bongos, congas and cuicas.
