Rosewood kalimba, also referred to as the thumb piano, 5 inches x 7 inches, 17 steel keys. The 17 key kalimba is not tuned. To tune the kalimba, adjust the position of each tine by tapping the end slightly to move the tine forward or backward. Kalimbas can be tuned to any key, although the key of G Major is quite common. The scale is layed out by alternating notes left and right from the fundamental note C in the center. This puts thirds next to each other, so if you play two adjacent notes at once, you have a chord. Tuned in this fashion, the seventeen note range of this kalimba is from B to D (2 octaves higher). Made in Pakistan.
