Mountain Rythym Circle Series Pine Ashiko drum in Natural finish, 8 inch head, 17 inch height. Two stage finish. Natural goat skin head. Featuring Mountain Rythym patented Simple Twist tuning system, these ashiko drums can be tuned up or down in a matter of minutes; change the drum head with the removal of just one knot. The ashiko is a conically shaped drum which originated in Africa. Mountain Rythym has spent many years perfecting the ashiko line. All three sizes have been specially designed to maximize the drums highs, lows and overall volume. These drums will surprise you with their sheer projection and beautiful tone - a great sound for all drumming environments. Pine wood shell is light weight, has a nice warm tone with moderate to long sustain, especially in the low end.
